Does OSleeve Fit Ōura Ring 5? Compatibility & FAQsUpdated 4 days ago

Ōura Ring 5 & OSleeve FAQs

With the launch of the Ōura Ring 5, we've received a lot of questions about compatibility and future OSleeve products. Here's everything we know so far.

Does OSleeve fit the Oura Ring 5?

Yes, with some guidance on sizing.

We tested our current OSleeve covers against the official Ōura Ring 5 sizing kit, across the full size range. Here's what we found:

  • Small fits Ring 5 sizes 6 to 13. Quality silicone stretches safely across a few sizes, so on the larger end of that range, Small actually grips more securely, not less.
  • Medium works well for sizes 11 and up.
  • We'd recommend holding off on Large for now. The Ring 5's thinner profile means Large doesn't achieve the snug fit we look for.

One fit detail worth knowing: because the Ring 5 sits a little differently than older Ōura generations, the OSleeve's edge sits flush at the base of the ring. You may feel that edge against your skin, but it stays clear of the sensor area, so it shouldn't affect your readings.

A note on how we tested this: this testing used Ōura's official sizing kit, not a production Ring 5 unit. We'll share an update once we've tested with an actual ring.

Will OSleeve release a version made specifically for Ōura Ring 5?

Yes. We're building a slimmer fit, shaped specifically around the Ring 5's new form factor, for an even more precise fit than our current sizes offer.

As always, our goal is to create the best possible protection solution rather than rush a product to market. We want any future OSleeve to meet the same standard our customers already expect, not just hit a release date.

In the meantime, based on the testing above, our current Small and Medium sizes already provide solid protection for Ōura Ring 5 owners.

Do I need protection for the Ōura Ring 5?

In our opinion, yes.

While Ōura has stated that the Ring 5 shell is more durable and hardened than previous generations, the reality is that all ring materials have limits. We've seen this story before.

Whether a ring uses titanium, ceramic coatings, PVD finishes, or other advanced materials, scratches and cosmetic damage can still occur during everyday activities such as:

  • Weightlifting
  • Gym workouts
  • Yard work
  • DIY projects
  • Sports and recreation
  • Manual work

Any surface can be damaged when it comes into contact with something harder, sharper, or abrasive enough.

Why isn't a Ōura Ring 5-specific OSleeve available immediately?

Creating a protector built specifically around the Ōura Ring 5's exact shape takes more than measuring dimensions on a spec sheet. We're engineering, prototyping, testing, and refining a dedicated fit to make sure it meets the same standard as everything else we make.

That work covers:

  • A secure fit with no twisting or slipping
  • Comfort for daily wear
  • Full access to charging and normal ring use
  • Reliable protection during activity

Rather than releasing something quickly, we'd rather release something we're proud of. And in the meantime, our current Small and Medium sizes already do the job, based on our sizing kit testing above.

I have an Ōura Ring 4. Should I upgrade?

That's a personal decision.

Many of the headline features announced with Ōura Ring 5 are software-driven features that continue to build on the Ōura ecosystem. If you're already happy with your Ōura Ring 4, there's no obvious reason to rush into an upgrade. Ring 4 remains a proven smart ring with years of real-world validation behind it.

If you're considering Ring 5 because you prefer a smaller and lighter ring, it may be worth exploring.

Either way, protecting your smart ring remains one of the easiest ways to keep it looking great during everyday life.
